Faculty & Administrators
Do you want to further develop your formal writing proficiency—or do you know of a student who would benefit from writing assistance or coaching?
If so, I can assist. I am a board-certified editor and writing coach—one of the few BELS board-certified editors in the United States who specializes exclusively in the nursing sciences.
I edit for nursing professors who are preparing articles for journal submission and mentor professors who want to further develop their competence in scientific writing.
In addition, I also edit for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Professors typically refer my services to students who
- are untrained in scientific writing,
- are at risk for academic failure,
- have learning differences,
- speak English is a second language, or
- are veterans and other adults engaged in nursing studies after years’ absence from the university classroom.
I work with clients on a one-on-one referral basis. I edit academic papers (dissertations, theses, course assignments, and research journal articles) and other types of nursing-related literature. The writing support that I provide is typically more intensive than the support provided in university writing centers. When I accept a client, in addition to direct work with the client, I make myself available to my client on a 12 hours/day – 7 days/week basis.
Note: I do not ghostwrite students’ papers. My objective in editing is to empower my clients through the development of their scholarly writing expertise.
Sponsors of my writing support services and courses have included, among others, the American Nurses Association Minority Fellowship Program, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services–Health Resources and Services Administration, and University of California–San Francisco Nursing Alumni Foundation.
My clients’ affiliations include University of California, San Francisco–School of Nursing, Stanford University Medical Center, Pennsylvania State University College of Nursing, and University of California, Davis–Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing—among other institutions.
